How will logistics work once tomorrow’s dense and attractive cities are built? This was the starting point when CIVIC and DenCity, two successful community development projects, held a joint final conference on June 19. The collective answer is: more collaboration.

On March 19 - 21 representatives from Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands and Sweden met in Stockholm for a consortium meeting and site visit. During the three days the participants discussed among other things a CIVIC- handbook and a construction logistic game.

This movie explains the application of construction logistics optimization in CIVIC. Logistics optimization is based on planning, consolidation and cooperation. In CIVIC, innovative concepts are developed and implemented. The movie shows some examples of cooperation and coordination which support decision makers in improving construction activities.

This movie explains the use of the MAMCA (multi-actor, multi-critera analysis) in CIVIC. The MAMCA software, an online decision-making platform, provides an interactive method for weighting stakeholder objectives, evaluating options and providing easy-to-understand visualizations of evaluation outcomes.

During the Swedish annual conference Transportforum on 10th and 11th of January 2018 CIVIC researcher Anna Fredriksson, Linköping University was the chair for a full session with construction logistics as the theme. Also during this session Lovisa Westblom, Closer and Anna Fredriksson, presented the CIVIC project and the Smart Governance concept developed in the project.

On the 7th of December 2017, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, BERNARD engineers (as part of BL&UM) and LiU Linköping University organized a MAMCA workshop in Aspern Seestadt. Stakeholders representing municipality / citizens, project managers / investors, suppliers / logistics providers, contractors and environmental organizations discussed about construction logistics under environmental, social and economic aspects.

On November 6 - 8 representatives from Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands and Sweden met in Amsterdam for a consortium meeting and site visit. During the three days the participants discussed the progression of the project’s different work packages and visited the construction site of a new metroline in the city of Amsterdam that will be ready in June 2018.
