On April 24 - 26 representatives from Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands and Sweden met in Vienna for a project meeting and site visit. During the two days the participants discussed the progression of the project’s different work packages and visited the demonstration site

"Smart construction logistics keeps cities livable: Chaos is a choice"

Disruptions due to construction activities will increase substantially in Dutch cities over the coming years. But setting up smart construction logistics in advance will prevent most of the disruption, argue Walther Ploos van Amstel and René Postulart. "That that will not only save money, as the Dutch logistics sector has calculated, but also immediately cut CO2 emissions in half."
Swedish project meeting in Stockholm

In the end of March the Swedish project consortium met up in Stockholm to discuss the upcoming demonstration within the CIVIC project. Engaging discussions and an inspiring study visit at Stockholm’s new city space Urban Escape made the day for the participants.

SMART Governance and MAMCA at VREF Conference on Urban Freight

At the VREF Conference on Urban Freight in mid-October Gothenburg, the CIVIC project held its first interest group workshop with policy makers from cities and other authorities. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Anna Fredriksson, Linköping University (Sweden), and Dr. Tom van Lier, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and focused on SMART Governance concepts and the MAMCA methodology.

On August 29-30 representatives from Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands and Sweden met in Brussels for a project meeting and methodology workshop. During the two days the participants discussed the progression of the project’s different work packages and the Multi Actor Multi Criteria Analysis (MAMCA) methodology that will be used in the project was also presented and tested.
